The Château des Milandes
A 15th-century building restored in the 20th century, the Château des Milandes in the Dordogne is famous for having been the home of Joséphine Backer.
The tour includes a visit to a magnificent French garden and falconry demonstrations.
The Castle
Built in 1489 by François de Caumont, this Renaissance castle offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Dordogne Valley. Slate roofs, wood paneling, large mullioned windows, and beautifully preserved stained glass windows contribute to the architectural and aesthetic charm of the building.
The garden and the park
The current garden was designed by Jules Vacherot, a renowned landscape architect of the 20th century. It is a French-style garden, spread over numerous terraces with fountains, boxwood hedges, and flower beds. During your stroll, you will discover many species of trees: Atlas cedars, beech, oak, Virginia tulip trees, umbrella pines, and more.
