Its brown tiles, its typical roofs, its landscapes, leaving you speechless… in the village of La Roque Gageac, a walk is an invitation to dream.

During your stay at La Roque Gageac campsite, go to the 14th century church and take the time to observe its typical bell tower and its Périgord lauze roof. Then continue your walk to the Manoir de Tarde, which dominates the village. With its two main gabled buildings, this former residence of the bishops of Sarlat will appeal to architecture lovers.

Finally, you can’t go to La Roque Gageac without tasting local products. So go to the local producers’ market in the village every Friday morning from May to September.

Nestled between the cliff and the river, the village enjoys a particularly mild climate. The latter favoured the development of an exotic garden. Established by Mr Gérard Dorin who took advantage of the natural solarium of the cliff to plant a luxurious Mediterranean vegetation.

During your walk, you will find palm trees, banana trees, bougainvilleas, orange trees, pomegranate trees, lemon trees and other oleanders. A garden where life is good! This one is free to visit.
