Sarlat panoramic lift

Take a ride on the panoramic lift

Sarlat’s panoramic lift is hidden in the heart of the town’s covered market, in the bell tower of the old Sainte-Marie church which dates from 1365 and renovated by the architect Jean Nouvel. Located in the medieval part of the town, this glazed lift offers a breathtaking view over Sarlat-la-Canéda.

Go behind the church to find it. Take the lift to the top of the bell tower. You’ll overlook Sarlat at a height of 35 metres and discover a marvellous 360° panorama.

A guide will point out the unmissable buildings in Sarlat, such as the Saint-Sacerdos cathedral, the chapel of the Lantern of the Dead…
Admire La Place du Marché, the charming little cobbled streets and the ochre-coloured stone houses roofed with traditional lauze tiles.
A lovely 12-minute tour of the city from above – something for the whole family. Remember to immortalise it by taking photos!
